HENLOW BRIDGE LAKES UPDATED COVID SECURE POLICY
Thank you to all of our lovely customers who have sent goodwill emails and kind messages of support to us during this terrible period of uncertainty. Your comments are very much appreciated by us all.
Following the COVID-19 site closure in March of this year, continual appraisal and updating of our policies, procedures and operating systems has been taking place, this included a full COVID- 19 risk assessment and regular updates undertaken by our retained health and safety practitioner to ensure we can continue to operate in a Covid Secure way.
Here at HBL the health and safety of our guests and our wonderful team is the number one priority. We feel duty bound to provide an environment where all guests feel comfortable and safe while staying with us on site, and that our wonderful staff are well trained, supported, protected and remain safe in their work at all times. This is why we planned for a slow phased opening, to allow us all time to implement, train and amend our operational procedures, in a safe way.
It has been wonderful to experience guests back on site. To see the happy smiling faces of children running around the site again is fantastic, and just to remind everyone... we don't make any charges for children staying with us!
Henlow Bridge Lakes introduced a phased system for the re-opening of our campsite, which we published to all of our guests. The full continued cooperation from all of our guests and staff is necessary to allow us to remain open, the site to operate efficiently, and most importantly keep everyone safe.
PHASE ONE OPENING TOOK PLACE ON 9th July 2020.
All of the campsite communal areas including all of our amenity blocks (toilets-showers-plate wash-laundry etc.) remained closed in the first phase of opening. Only Caravans, Motorhomes and guests booking Lodges and Cabins were able to stay on site.
PHASE TWO OPENING NOW BROUGHT FORWARD TO 23 rd JULY 2020
Originally we had planned to open up more of our facilities on 6th August 2020. However, having observed the way in which all of our guests have followed the guidelines and respected the social distancing policy, we now feel confident enough to open up more facilities than was first envisaged, and also open them sooner than the original published date. We will still ensure that we are operating in a Covid-Secure way for both guests and staff.
The good news is that Tents, Trailer Tents, camper vans and any other non self contained unit including Pods can now stay with us on site, for any arrival date on or beyond Thursday 23rd July 2020.
Please accept our apologies if you recently had, a future booking cancelled due to the toilet and shower facilities not being available when we first opened. We took a cautious view and are now pleased to be able to welcome non self contained units a lot earlier than we first thought. Please book on line or give us a call to book your summer holiday. Please remember that we make no charge for any children that are staying on site.
Online bookings can now be made for any arrival date for Lodges, Cabins Caravans and Motorhomes. Online bookings for Tents, Trailer tents, Pods and any other non ''self contained'' units can also be made now for any arrival date on or beyond Thursday 23rd July 2020.
TOILETS AND SHOWERS
The toilets and showers in Jons and Maple field areas will be open for all guests from all field areas to use from Thursday 23rd July 2020. Jons field has five fully self contained family cubicles which contain: a large shower, toilet and sink, with lots of space for helping the little ones. Some have baby changing and are easily accessible. Maple has three self contained showers with wash hand basins. There are both male and female toilet cubicles at maple.
Because we will have enhanced cleaning protocols in place; queues will inevitably form and we ask that you queue in a patient and safe manner. The plate wash areas in both Maple and Jons areas will operate on a ''one family in - one family out '' system. All social distancing and queuing signage must be followed.
Children must be supervised at all times, and are not permitted to use any of the facilities without supervision.
When any of the facilities are being deep cleaned and fogged with disinfectant they will be closed for use.
We would suggest that wherever possible customers who have their own onboard facilities continue to use them.
Ash and Hayward's facilities will remain closed, due to the fact that social distancing measures cannot be put in place. This is due to the physical layout of these areas.
Toilet and shower tents cannot be erected and used on our site at any time.
ANGLING IS NOW OPEN
The new online booking portal has proved both successful and very popular with our anglers, especially in the fact that individual swims can now be reserved at the time of booking.
No more queuing or rushing needed!
All anglers must now book and pay online to fish Vincent's and Jordan's lakes.
As long as there is still availability; bookings can be made up to 23.59 hrs. the day before anyone wishes to fish. Day tickets cannot be purchased in the shop for these lakes.
If you will be staying with us on site and would like to fish on one of these two large lakes, you would need to book online beforehand.
Bookings cannot be made online for the same day.
The booking system allows bookings to be made up to 15 days ahead.
At this time, day tickets for both Youngers and Rodgers lakes (our two smaller lakes) can be purchased in the shop from 09.00 every day.
Night fishing sessions are now available to book online.
Anglers are free to arrive any time from 08.00 AM and must be on-site before 16.00.
The night fishing anglers must vacate their swim by 07.30 AM the next morning at the latest.
Non fishing visitors are not able to enter our site.
All guests must adhere to social distancing guidelines whilst on our site and very importantly not visit other pitches/accommodations or socialise with other guests other than those registered and staying on the same pitch as them, or those that are booked in a ''two family bubble'' Accordingly, any GROUP booking of two or more pitches will NOT be allowed to stay with us until further notice, which will probably be until mid September at the earliest.
Obviously we are disappointed at having to cancel GROUP bookings this season. If this action sadly affects your planned stay with us and we have not already contacted you, then please contact us by email and we will be more than happy to move your booking to another date, and also inform you of your other options:
All of our pitches are large and spacious and we will be assisting with positioning units correctly on individual pitches. We will be reducing the number of pitches available. This may mean that on arrival, you will be allocated a different pitch to the one you originally booked. Unfortunately, at this time, NO specific pitch number can be guaranteed, but we will do as much as possible to meet individual requests.
We would also ask that vehicle movements, including those entering and leaving the site are kept to a minimum at this time.
As always our 22.30 quiet time policy remains in place. Cooperation and personal responsibility will be the key to our and safe, continued operation. If we sadly encounter guests being irresponsible and not following the necessary changes to our rules, we will have no choice but to ask them to leave the site immediately.
All Pitch bookings must arrive between the hours of 13.00 – 18.00
All Pod bookings must arrive between the hours of 14.00 - 18.00
All Cabin and Lodge bookings must arrive between the hours of 15.00 – 18.00
We cannot accept any arrivals after 18.00.
Details of our new arrival procedures will be emailed to all guests who have bookings.
The reception building at Hayward's is now closed and will remain permanently closed. All queries, information and bookings will now all be managed from the shop.
The shop is open from 08.30 – 16.00 every day. Face coverings must be worn in the shop at all times (until further notice).
Due to the narrow spaces we have introduced a ''one family in - one family out'' system.
There is one door for entry and one to exit.
Marker signage for queuing outside must be followed.
The contactless card payment limit has been raised to £45 and we would ask you to use this form of payment as much as possible, which will reduce the circulating of cash.
We do realise it can be difficult with children in shops wanting to touch things at times, but please keep the handling of goods in the shop to a minimum.
Perspex screens have been fitted at the tills, and we ask that you please maintain social distancing measures at all times to keep yourself, other guests and our team safe.
In house freshly baked baguettes, croissants and pain au chocolate can be ordered and paid for in the shop, they will then be delivered to your pitch or accommodation the next morning!

All caravans, motorhomes and other units must use the Elsan dumping points in a safe and courteous way, following all of the signage at each point and cleaning down thoroughly after use. Hand sanitiser is provided at each point. Grey water can be discarded into hedgerows, which is very good for the bushes!
VISITORS ON SITE. No visitors will be accepted on site until 30th November 2020 at the earliest.
Please ensure you are at the main gate in plenty of time to meet your delivery driver.
Access to your unit in the caravan storage facility is now available from 08.30 – 18.00.

PHASE THREE FULL OPENING.
At this stage, we think that it is unlikely that any of our communal facilities, including games room, petting corner or Bango trailer ride etc. will be opened for the 2020 season at HBL.
We will of course continually monitor this situation and make updates via social media, our website and email should this situation change.

We do understand that some other businesses may well have opened and been operating in different ways, but we have taken a view that we need to ensure that our guests and team have an environment which can operate safely, and we believe we have found a workable compromise.
We do apologise to all guests who have unfortunately been affected by the changes.
We believe it is important at this time to offer as much detail as possible on the current and future operating systems on the site. We are constantly editing our additional Terms & Conditions which will remain in place until we notify all guests otherwise by email, social media and on our website. These additional T&Cs are in addition to our standard T&Cs, and are in place so we can operate in a Covid Secure way. By booking and entering the site you are bound by these necessary Terms and Condition changes. All of the T&Cs will be attached to all bookings and pre-arrival emails.
As recent events have proved, details, advice and safety recommendations concerning different situations can change very fast. Moving forward, we will continue to monitor our policies and update everyone as and when they change.
