Live theatre is coming back to the lakes!
This summer The Pantaloons Theatre Company are again touring outdoor venues around the country with their whimsical adaptation of H.G. Wells science fiction classic.
The War Of The Worlds
"The critically-acclaimed Pantaloons invade the stage in this funny yet faithful new open-air adaptation as they use musical instruments, puppetry and, um, enthusiasm to recreate deadly heat-rays, giant fighting-machines, squidgy tentacled Martians and interplanetary warfare on an epic scale. The chances of success? A million to one…"
Henlow Bridge Lakes are yet again proud to host this vibrant theatre company for this offbeat outdoor event on Wednesay 3rd August 2022 @ 7pm. Food and drink will be available.
"The Pantaloons are known for their anarchic retellings of classic works of literature having previously put a hilarious spin on Sherlock Holmes, The Canterbury Tales, The Odyssey and many of Shakespeare’s plays."
"The Pantaloons are a company dedicated to making theatre which is accessible yet intelligent, taking inspiration from an eclectic mix of popular forms and re-inventing these to produce imaginative and innovative work. Our style is self-aware and playful, with one foot constantly in the world of the here-and-now while the other remains within the world of illusion. Our ethos is one of collaboration, both with our audiences and within the group itself. We maintain an emphasis on physicality and on audience interaction, and our aim is always to produce performance which is experimental, eye-catching, moving and fun."
There's lots of safe secure free parking inside the grounds, or, it's only a short walk from Arlesey Mainline station to our site.
The bar and food service will be open from 6.00pm, so please bring something to sit on and enjoy a great evening out.
